The Unforgettable Wedding of My Dearest Sister

The sun was not yet up in the day of January 9, 2010 that I, the bridesmaids and the flower girls were already dressed up with our lovely gowns. We were waiting for our make-up artists to apply some facial cosmetics to be totally ready for pictorial later. The reserved rooms of my sister and her husband to be that time were too occupied by the entourage. Dressed up here and dressed up there. An hour and a half before the call time of the wedding, both the bride and the groom were getting dressed up. They just look so beautiful and really perfect for each other. Pictorial of the entourage with the bride and groom was then followed when both were ready. Series of formal and informal pictures were taken by the photographer in that hotel.

At exactly 9:30am, the groom and the others were already waiting for the bride in the church. Well, as my sister’s maid of honor, I was with her wherever she goes. We were like making the short way in going to church a somewhat like a long journey to have a little delay in arriving at church.

The time had finally come. We were all ready to start the wedding ceremony. Excited at the same time a little bit nervous, that was what I felt at that moment. My little sister was the one assigned to sing the song for the groom’s moment in walking towards the altar. And as she sang that song, I just didn’t understand what I felt that time. My tears ran unto my face. I was really shocked of the sudden tears. I quickly ran to my friends and asked help to check on my make-up. They were laughing and telling me I was like the bride since I cried. They were right on that one. So, I went back to my position since the bridesmaids already started their march. Finally my turn, the maid of honor’s moment, to walk down the aisle had come. I walked slowly and smiled till I got in the altar. We then waited patiently for the bride’s moment. When she got out of the bridal car wearing that most beautiful bridal gown I have ever seen then walked slowly in the red carpet covered with fresh flowers, everybody were so happy to see her in her gown. Everybody was giving attention to every step on the carpet she makes. She was teary-eyed while walking in the aisle because of the happiness she felt that very moment. And as my dad gave her hand to her husband to be, it was such a moment for both sides. The mass then continued till the groom and the bride exchanged their vows, put on their rings and have them declared by the priest as newly weds.
